Headteacher's Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Mill Hill County High School.

Head Teacher Welcome ImageAs Headteacher, I am thrilled to lead this thriving community. Mill Hill County High is a heavily oversubscribed and successful school providing educational excellence to students from the age of 11 to 19. We are a very special and unique learning environment taking students from over 70 primary schools because of our reputation for providing a well-rounded and exciting education.

Our values of Aiming Higher, Promoting Harmony and Achieving Excellence drive the work of the whole school community.

Students achieve excellent academic outcomes across the school due to the fantastic staff who always go the extra mile to ensure each child is known as an individual and achieves success. We uphold the highest standards of behaviour and mutual respect as the foundation stone of our community. We expect students to display a strong work ethic throughout their time with us as this will best ensure a successful future. Giving up is not an option!

We aim to understand the changing needs of each individual in our care throughout their journey from Year 7 to Year 13. We will challenge and support them to succeed in a caring environment where they feel safe and relationships are outstanding. Importantly we will also promote and celebrate their successes.

Our students are our best ambassadors: smartly dressed, polite and well-mannered with a strong drive to work hard and enjoy their time at school through the contributions they make both in class and as part of the wider community.

We value the development of the whole child: academically, socially and personally. We ensure they have the skills and experiences to become well-rounded adults who will make positive contributions as leaders of our future society. We promote a broad enrichment programme of over 100 clubs, trips and outside speakers a term which adds to the students’ experiences throughout their time with us. This develops their skills of teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving essential for further study at university, in apprenticeships and in their future careers. Of course we cannot overlook the vital importance our parents and carers play in the success of the young people. Whether it be involvement in our PTA, attending school events or ensuring all homework is completed on time and of good quality, it is the strength of the relationship between home, school and student which has the most positive impact on success.

We know our school well and we are not complacent. We know that however good we are, we can always become even better. We embody our school motto in everything we do, always Aiming Higher.

We look forward to welcoming you into our community.
