The Business Education Department provides a range of academic courses. Ofsted found examination results to be "very high" and teaching "very strong".

GCSE Business Studies is an option in Years 10 and 11 and will involve students setting up mini enterprises in school, completing a coursework project worth 25% of the final grade.

Post-16, the A Level Business Studies course focuses on devising a range of solutions to business problems using concepts, theories and techniques. A thoroughly researched coursework project contributes 15% to the final grade. "A Level results are in the top 5% of all schools" (Ofsted)

Ofsted found that in A Level Economics "standards are well above average and teaching is very good." Micro and macro theories are taught with a focus an applying these to current situations.

Students on all courses benefit from visits to industry and involvement in external competitions.
